Sander vitreus, Yellow pikeperch, Yellow pickerel
For those who need a true-to-life walleye eye for your next project, we have produced our Walleye 2. Walleye 2 eye, created with input from leading taxidermists, is an excellent choice for commercial and competition taxidermy. Having a blank tear-shaped pupil, outlined with a wide golden skirt and a chatoyant iris, blending from light blue into black at the edge, this eye is true in shape, size and coloration.
Our eyes are made from polymer resins (similar to acrylic). We use our own patented technology that ensures extreme hardness, chemical stability, and heat resistance. The eyes can be dry-cleaned, treated with organic solvents, and heated to 130 degrees Celsius (about 260 degrees Fahrenheit) for 20 minutes. The iris and pupil are digitally printed, which allows us to create very complex images. The image is refracted by the strong lens in a special way, creating the unique effect of a real eye.
On the back side of the eye, there is a ribbed plastic peg that helps position and set the eye on a mold. It can be snapped off if not needed.
